Taipei couples increasingly look for wedding rings with a story behind the surface, not just a brand on the box. Neu Spur is a Japanese bridal brand built around the komorebi finish — a hammered texture struck freehand by artisans, so every ring scatters light in its own way.
In Taipei, Neu Spur is carried by DignityD in the Da'an District, a few minutes from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT. This guide covers what sets the rings apart, the six finishes, prices and warranty, and how to visit.
Neu Spur sits between a fully bespoke commission and an off-the-shelf ring. You choose from ten designs — each carrying a German name such as Licht (light), Liebe (love) or Eid (vow) — then a metal (PT900 platinum, K18 yellow or pink gold) and one of six surface finishes. The final texture is hammered by hand, freehand, by an artisan in Japan.
Because nothing is stamped from a mould, the strength and rhythm of each strike differ. Two rings of the same design, finished by the same artisan on the same day, will never show the same pattern. That is the “handmade feel” — a one-of-a-kind surface at a fair, clearly stated price.
Light behaves differently on each finish, and so does everyday wear. Textured finishes (Vintage, Moon, Tree) hide small scratches; the mirror finish is the brightest and can be re-polished. Most designs offer all six; Ilka offers Vintage and Mirror only, and Ehren and Flügel offer five (no Moon).
The komorebi hammered finish — freehand hammer marks that scatter light softly. Scratch-forgiving; the signature look.
A matte finish with the shine held back. Understated and refined; small scratches stay discreet.
Fine linear brushing that catches light in thin, delicate lines. Clean and modern.
Organic, bark-like texture. Warm and natural; wear becomes part of the character.
A granular, stone-like surface. Bold and distinctive.
A high polish that reflects light directly. The brightest, most classic option — especially flattering for a diamond.

DignityD also offers a hands-on experience by reservation: the two of you can hammer the texture onto each other's ring on the same day.
Hammered finishes are hard to judge from photos. In store, put the ring on, move your hand, and compare it under window light and indoor light — the small points of light shift in a way a screen cannot show.
